Get closer to Jesus, He is right here with you!

To avoid weakness, sickness and premature death,

let a man examine himself!

"Therefore, whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the Body and Blood of the Lord.  But, let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup.  For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner, eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord's Body.  For this reason, many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep".
(1Corinthians 11:27-30)

Father God, I come to your Holy Communion table with reverence, awe, humility, and a repentant heart.  I do not enter in lightly.  The broken body and blood of Jesus is an awesome thing; a living, loving, liberating, life-saving force.  Holy Communion is the meal that heals me; but, if taken in an unworthy manner it can become the meal that harms me.  Therefore, I examine every area of my life.

I examine my conduct, my relationships, my attitudes, my love walk, how I treat my brothers and sisters in the Lord - the Body of Christ on earth today - as well as all of God's creation.

The body of Jesus is no longer on the cross. It consists of my brothers and sisters in the Lord. Therefore, to mistreat people is to mistreat Jesus.  I can't afford to do that.

Father God, forgive me for missing the mark. I ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to me areas of unforgiveness in my life or areas in need of repentance.  I confess my sins and rededicate myself to obeying your love commandment.

Father God, thank you for your mercy and love that endures forever.

I receive and break this bread to remind myself that with the stripes of Jesus I was healed.

I receive this cup to remind myself that I am a righteous new creation in Christ.
(2 Corinthian 5:17-21)

Thank you Father for forgiving all my sins, healing all my diseases and supplying all my needs.
