SAVED BY GRACE
|
|
|
|
SALVATION IS A GIFT FROM GOD
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and not of your own doing; it is the gift of God." (Ephesians 2:8)
New Testament salvation is simple, easy and free. It is a gift from God. It's all about God's grace. Love is God's one and only motive, but grace is God's one and only means. Grace is God's one and only plan, grace is God's one and only formula, grace is God's one and only method.
God offers us the gift of redemption, the gift of reconciliation, the gift of restoration, the gift of righteousness, and the gift of eternal life.
Why? Because God is good! Why? Because God is love! Why? Because God is a giver!
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send his son unto the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved." (John 3:16-17)
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23)
"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:9-10)
THE PRISON DOOR IS OPEN!
"For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace." (Romans 6:14)
"There is therefore now no condemnation for those that are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death." (Romans 8:1-2)
You don't have to live in condemnation and you don't have to live in defeat. Jesus was condemned and punished so you would never have to be. He went to the cross, in your place, so you would never have to. He took the nails so you would never have to take them. You are now loved, valued, accepted, and forgiven forever in God's Kingdom. Grace is the open door that leads to eternal favor with God. Grace is unearned, undeserved, unmerited favor. You are not under judgment. You are not under condemnation. You are not under punishment. You are under grace. That means sin can't win and you can't lose!
The prison door is open! Why are you still inside?

Millions of people are living in peace and joy today because they have made the life changing discovery that seeking Jesus is not a desperate shot in the dark, it's the glorious entrance into the light. Jesus is the door. We walk through Jesus into new life, abundant life, and eternal life.
Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears my word and believes in him who sent me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment but has passed from death to life." (John 5:24)

MY CHRISTIAN CONFESSION
Father God, thank You for loving me so much. You are good and Your mercy endures forever. I believe in my heart that Jesus has been raised from the dead. He is the Lord of my life. He is the light of my life. Thank you for my salvation. Thank You for Your Word. I believe there is authority, power, strength, healing and life in Your Word. I am a believer and not a doubter. I believe what you said...
I am free from condemnation! I am more than a conqueror! I am loved with an everlasting love! I am healed by the stripes of Jesus! I am the righteousness of God in Christ! I have eternal life! My needs are met! My cup runs over!
My life runs over with resurrection power, unspeakable joy, perfect peace, and abundant love! Praise God, darkness is gone! I'm free! I'm victorious! I am a new creation in Christ. I am now complete in Christ! I live for Him, not for self. I walk by faith, not by sight. I love You, Father, and I praise Your Holy Name.

World War I ended in 1918, World War II in 1945, Korea in 1952, and Vietnam in 1975. But what about your own personal war? For many people, the war never ends. In every nation on earth, people are fighting and being destroyed. Not by bombs and bullets, but by addiction and oppression. Many hurting people never find freedom because they are like the famous, but tragic, World War II soldier. In 1974, a Japanese soldier was found hiding in a Philippine Jungle. He had been there since 1945. He was still fighting the war - almost thirty years after it had ended! Many people today are no different than that poor soldier. They are still fighting a war that ended 2000 years ago.
When Jesus rose from the dead, He won the war! He transformed universal sorrow into eternal victory! He delivered mankind out of a hopeless destiny and into a glorious eternity! Jesus conquered death, reconciled God and man, and liberated the human race. You can stop fighting. The victory has already been won! Why not join the winning team? Jesus will give your life peace and purpose. He will forgive you and heal you. Best of all He will forever love you! There is no greater love!

TEN REASONS WHY YOU CANNOT LOSE YOUR SALVATION
1. Salvation is a gift. You can not lose it because you never did anything to get it. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
2. God offers salvation, not probation. Your life and actions have already been judged and you have been declared "not guilty". God's message to you and me is this: I will never find you guilty! (John 5:24)
3. You are now living under grace. Grace means you are loved, valued, accepted and forgiven forever. (Romans 6:14)
4. You are loved with an everlasting love. God's message to you and to me and to everyone is this: I will never stop loving you. (Jeremiah 31:3)
5. Jesus says, He will never leave us or forsake us. Some people say He will, but Jesus says He won't. (Hebrews 13:5)
6. Salvation is about the goodness and faithfulness of God -- not us. Jesus never said the sheep were good. He said He was good. (John 10:10-11)
7. God has declared you righteous. Salvation is the gift of righteousness. Many people think that when they die God will tell them if they are righteous enough for heaven. No, pay attention. God has already told you. (Romans 5:17)
8. God's mercy endures forever. We often forget about God's mercy, but God doesn't. (Psalm 136:1)
9. You are now liberated from all condemnation. Not when - or if -- your conduct becomes perfect, but now. (Romans 8:1)
10. Nothing can separate you from the love of God. You can turn your back on the light, but the light will always shine on your back. (Romans 8:38)
"You that desire to walk in perfect holiness, as I trust you do; you that have set before you a high standard of what a Christian should be - do you not find that before the breakfast things are cleared away from the table, you have displayed enough folly to make you ashamed of yourselves?
If you had to keep your salvation you would certainly perish. If you had to sustain your own spiritual vigor, it would not be long before you would faint. But since you depend on God and He has to preserve you, He will not allow you to leave Him." Charles Spurgeon

GOD'S GIFT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS "...those who receive an abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness shall reign as kings in life..." (Romans 5:17)
"I do not set aside the grace of God. For if righteousness came through the law then Christ died in vain." (Galatians 2:21)
"Our new testament righteousness comes to us by grace and grace alone. Righteousness is a gift from God. It gives all believers the status of permanent right standing with God. All believers have received the gift of righteousness because Jesus is our righteousness (1 Corinthians 1:30).
We don't have to spend our entire Christian lives struggling to get right with God.
All believers are righteous in Christ. All believers have right standing with God.
Christianity is the gift of righteousness. We can never earn our righteousness.
We can never lose our righteousness."
